Chef de Partie

We are looking for a Chef de Partie to join our team at Cheddar Wood Resort & Spa in Axbridge , Somerset.

This is a permanent position to work full time hours. This will be 40 hours across 5 variable days which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Chef de Partie to join our team at Cheddar Woods Resort & Spa, one of Darwin Escapes' beautiful holiday destinations in Cornwall.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality food and great guest experiences. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will support the day-to-day running of the kitchen and play a key role in delivering consistent, high standards.

This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who is looking to develop their skills further within a supportive and growing business.

Accommodation is available for this role, making it a great opportunity for candidates looking to relocate or reduce travel.

This is a fixed term, full-time position working variable days, including weekends and bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Prepare and deliver high-quality dishes in line with company standards

·         Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen

·         Maintain excellent food hygiene and health & safety standards at all times

·         Monitor stock levels, rotate stock correctly and assist with ordering

·         Check deliveries and ensure quality and accuracy

·         Assist with menu preparation and presentation

·         Ensure a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen environment

·         Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining high standards

·         Support with training and development where required

What We’re Looking For:

·         Previous experience in a similar role within a kitchen environment

·         Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure

·         A positive attitude and willingness to learn

·         Strong team player with good communication skills

·         Passion for food and delivering a great guest experience

This role is based within a busy kitchen environment and will involve standing for extended periods. The role may also involve lifting or moving kitchen equipment and supplies where required.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Right to Live and work in the UK
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent customer service and strong communication skills

Desired criteria

  • A driving licence and the ability to drive is an advantage to enable easy travel to and from the resort
  • Some previous experience within a busy kitchen environment
  • Catering qualifications and Level 3 Food Safety are desirable but not essential
