We are looking for local people who are passionate about providing an outstanding level of care and going the extra mile for our residents. We are currently have a vacancy at our Heanor Park Care home working 35 hours a week over 5 shifts.
The dementia Lead role relies on a passion to learn; a passion to enable people with dementia to live well; hold excellent communication skills and the ability to accept a person for who they are. You will be expected, under the direction and supervision of your home manager, to participate as a member of the support team to ensure that all residents receive the highest standard of person-centred care.
About the role
We are seeking a dedicated Dementia Lead to support the Dementia Service Manager in delivering person-centred, relationship-focused care for residents with dementia. This role combines hands-on care as a Senior Carer/Dementia Support Worker with management responsibilities, including coordinating staff rotas, conducting dementia care audits, leading staff supervisions, and ensuring all assessments and care plans are up to date. The Dementia Lead will promote a supportive, inclusive environment, advocate for residents’ rights and dignity, maintain a dementia-friendly environment, and collaborate with Activity Coordinators to deliver meaningful, personalised activities. Additional responsibilities include supporting quality improvement initiatives, contributing to team development and recruitment, maintaining medication training, assisting with resident assessments, and completing dementia-focused training such as the Derbyshire Dementia Standards Award and Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Friends. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about enhancing the well-being of residents living with dementia and making a real difference in their daily lives.
