Grounds and Hot Tubs Maintenance Assistant
About the Role:
We are looking for a Grounds, Hot Tubs & Maintenance Assistant to join the team at Hawkchurch Resort & Spa, one of Darwin Escapes’ countryside retreat destinations in Devon.
This is a hands-on role supporting the day-to-day maintenance, hot tub servicing and upkeep of the resort grounds, helping to ensure a safe, clean and well-presented environment for our guests.
This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week across variable days, including weekends and bank holidays.

About the role
Role Responsibilities:
As Grounds, Hot Tubs & Maintenance Assistant, you will support the upkeep of the resort, ensuring facilities, accommodation and outdoor areas are maintained to a high standard.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the maintenance and servicing of hot tubs to ensure they are clean, safe and fully operational
Assisting with the upkeep of guest accommodation, company buildings and on-site facilities
Responding to maintenance issues and guest requests in a timely manner
Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
Supporting grounds maintenance including grass cutting, strimming, edging and general upkeep
Ensuring pathways, outdoor areas and communal spaces are clean, safe and free from debris
Assisting with basic checks and maintenance of tools, equipment and vehicles
Completing maintenance records and paperwork accurately
Supporting renovation and improvement projects where required
Providing a high standard of customer service when interacting with guests
Following all health and safety procedures and site standards
Being aware of emergency procedures and responding appropriately where required
About You:
To be successful in this role you will have:
Previous maintenance or grounds experience (desirable but not essential)
A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn
Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
The ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
A strong awareness of health and safety
A full UK driving licence is essential due to the use of on-site vehicles and buggies.
