The Role

As a Regional Bank Nurse Support, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical and operational needs of the Regional Bank team. Working on a flexible basis, you will provide short-term or emergency cover, assist with clinical supervisions, staff support, audits, training, recruitment, onboarding and induction. You will work closely with the Regional Bank Lead to uphold the highest standards of care and compliance.

About the role

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on clinical support and leadership when required, during team shortages or high-demand periods across the region.

  • Assist with clinical assessments, audits, and competency checks for nursing and care team. 

  • Support the Regional Bank Lead with day-to-day coordination, team allocation, and service delivery, Leading on this in the absence of the Regional Bank Lead.  

  • Support the management of safeguarding concerns, ensuring swift reporting, documentation, and follow-up actions in line with legal and regulatory guidance.

  • Participate in performance management, including involvement in disciplinaries, investigations, and capability processes as needed.

  • Support with the recruitment and onboarding of Care Assistants and Registered Nurses into positions on the Regional Bank.

  • Deliver team inductions, mentoring, and clinical training as required.

  • Monitor and promote best practices in infection control, medication management, safeguarding, and person-centred care.

  • Participate in quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous service improvement.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and RQIA requirements.

  • Serve as a role model to team, promoting a culture of professionalism, empathy, and teamwork.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN/RNLD) with active NMC registration
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a healthcare or community setting
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to travel to different sites across the region, sometimes at short notice
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to work autonomously

Desired criteria

  • Previous experience in a supervisory or mentoring role is desirable
