The role of our Kitchen Manager is to ensure residents receive a varied, appealing, wholesome and nutritious diet, which is suited to individual assessed and recorded requirements. Food, including liquified meals, must be presented in a manner which is attractive and appealing in terms of texture, flavour and appearance, in order to maintain appetite and nutrition.
As a leader, you are responsible for managing the operation of the kitchen and your team (within a prescribed budget) including food production, staff management, supplies, presentation / service and record management and compliance with quality and safety standards.
· Meet and greet our residents daily whilst having meaningful conversations to gain knowledge of their likes and dislikes using this information to tailor menus.
· Confident reporting to management with demonstrable experience in team training.
· Supervision and preparation of the cooking and serving of delicious and nutritious hot and cold meals, as and when required for the residents.
· Ensuring all meals are of the highest possible quality and attractively presented.
· Providing for special dietary requirements where necessary and considering the preferences of individual residents.
· Liaising with the Home Manager & Management Team when planning / costing menus to provide a balanced nutritious diet and making the best use of available fresh foods.
· Ensure balanced meals using only fresh ingredients made fresh each day.
· Lead and inspire your team of kitchen staff to ensure best quality and standards every time

What you will need
Required criteria
- NVQ level 3 Food Hygiene
- 2 + Years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrable strong leadership skills
- A genuine interest and passion for working in an environment with people with various care needs and making a positive difference to all aspects of their daily living experience.
- A confident communicator with a good command of the English language, both written and spoken, who builds rapport easily with residents, relatives, and colleagues
