Asphalt Plant Operator- Coleraine
Northstone Materials is one of the leading quarry, civil engineering and road contractors operating in Northern Ireland and Border Counties. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team at Croaghan quarry.
The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt production facility, ensuring consistent product quality while maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate and monitor asphalt plant machinery and associated equipment in line with our operating procedures;
Assist with start-up, shut-down and routine running of the asphalt plant;
Monitor production processes to ensure quality, consistency and output;
Assist with dispatch of materials;
Carry out routine inspections, basic maintenance and housekeeping of the plant and surrounding work areas;
Identify and report any faults, defects or safety concerns to supervisory staff;
Ensure all activities comply with our health and safety, environmental and quality standards;
Assist with stock management of raw materials and finished products;
Work effectively with colleagues, contractors and drivers to ensure efficient site operations;
Complete relevant documentation and production records accurately;
Participate in training, toolbox talks and safety briefings as required.

Requirements
Essential
Previous experience in a quarry, asphalt plant or similar industrial environment;
Strong awareness of health and safety practices;
Willingness to work outdoors in a quarry environment and in varying weather conditions;
A flexible approach to working hours, including early starts or overtime when required;
Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
Basic maintenance skills.
Desirable
Experience operating asphalt plant or mobile plant equipment;
Relevant plant or quarry tickets/ certifications
Basic mechanical aptitude or maintenance experience
