BACKGROUND

Fairhaven are an established supplier of ventilation and air movement products to the construction and industrial sectors. We supply ventilation products throughout Northern Ireland and sell to a wide range of business customers in the construction and industrial sectors. As a result of internal promotion, we wish to recruit someone for the role of Delivery Driver and Stores Assistant

JOB OUTLINE

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the focus of the role will be to help the company fulfil all sales orders as promptly and as efficiently as possible.

This will involve the following tasks:

1. Delivering sales orders to customers with the minimum of delay

• Picking & packing products for dispatch

• Planning and agreeing delivery routes with store manager

• Delivering orders to customer or site in company van

2. Maintaining well organised and adequate stocks of frequently sold product lines in our store

• Assisting with stock checks and other stores duties

• Collecting goods from local suppliers

• Offloading and unpacking goods inwards consignments (using forklift if needed)

• Organising product storage in a logical and efficient way

• Keeping the store environment tidy and free of hazards

• Helping to maintain & update computer records

3. Assisting with trade counter sales

• Greeting customers

• Advising customers on products (training will be provided)

• Processing sales orders on our CRM system

The relative amounts of time spent on each type of activity will vary from day to day depending on sales patterns, but around 50-60% of working hours will be spent on delivery duties.

Please note this role includes manual handling as part of day-to-day duties, carried out in line with Health & Safety procedures.

What you will need

  • Full UK driving licence (Category B) with no penalty points and no claims or convictions in past 3 years
  • 5 GCSE'S (or equivalent), including Maths and English

  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Counterbalance forklift licence (current)
  • Manual handling training
