Quality Support Manager

The Role

The Quality Support Manager is a senior clinical leadership and quality governance role, responsible for promoting best practice, continuous improvement of standards of care and, strengthening regulatory compliance across Healthcare Ireland Homes.

This role exists to protect quality, provide leadership continuity, and drive excellence. The post-holder acts as a senior clinical presence across the region, supporting Home Managers operationally to drive improvements, deliver safe, compliant, high-quality services.

Working in close partnership with the Director of Governance, Learning, Development & Compliance Manager and the Regional Nurse Training Lead, the Quality Support Manager ensures that learning, compliance, audit findings, quality improvements and clinical governance priorities are translated into real improvement at Home level.

The role is ideally suited to an experienced Registered Nurse with strong leadership capability, regulatory expertise and a passion for continuous improvement, staff development and quality assurance.

About the role

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide senior clinical governance leadership across Homes, ensuring quality, safety and regulatory compliance.

  • Lead inspection readiness, audits, safeguarding responses and regulatory reviews.

  • Embed consistent governance frameworks, policies and standards across services.

  • Support Homes requiring stabilisation, maintaining safe staffing and performance oversight.

  • Provide leadership continuity during transitions and support onboarding of new Home Managers.

  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement.

  • Embed training, competency frameworks and clinical development programmes.

  • Identify learning needs and support targeted development plans.

  • Lead quality improvement and transformation initiatives aligned to organisational strategy.

  • Ensure robust governance reporting, performance benchmarking and effective collaboration across Homes.

  • Contribute professional expertise at governance meetings and undertake duties as required by Directors.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • A Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a leadership or service development role
  • Experience in supporting Care Home leadership teams in quality improvement and service development
  • A sound working knowledge of the statutory requirements associated with care
  • Understanding of the key business activities associated with a care home
  • Be able to demonstrate strong leadership ability in a key, demanding role
  • Strong communication skills

Desired criteria

  • A good understanding of budgets is desirable
  • A minimum of 2 year experience working in a regional position
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of service improvement methodology
