Cleaning Attendant Leisure Centre & Public Areas
Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort is currently recruiting for experienced Cleaning Attendant to join the Team.
The Ballymascanlon House is a four-star property set on 130 acres of beautiful parkland, this impressive Victorian House forms the heart of this Hotel. It is one of the most remarkable historical estates in Ireland dating back to 833 A.D.
The roster shifts - 06.00-14.30 & 15.00-23.00 5 days a week Monday – Sunday roster
Responsibilities
Clean and maintain all areas of the leisure centre / Golf area (gym, poolside, changing rooms, showers, toilets, reception areas).
Ensure high hygiene standards in line with Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines.
Regularly disinfect high-touch surfaces (door handles, lockers, gym equipment).
Carry out deep cleaning schedules as assigned.
Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, toiletries, and towels.
Safely store and handle cleaning chemicals according to Health and Safety Authority (HSA) regulations.
Dispose of waste and recycling correctly following hotel and local council policies.
Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, broken equipment, lighting faults) to management.
Assist with poolside cleanliness and ensure surrounding areas are slip-free.
Follow pool plant room hygiene procedures where trained.
Adhere to health and safety policies, including manual handling procedures.
Provide friendly and professional interaction with guests when required.
Support team members and other hotel departments during busy periods.
About the role
Requirements:
Previous cleaning experience (preferably in hospitality, gym, or leisure facilities).
Knowledge of hygiene and infection control practices.
Understanding of Irish health and safety standards.
Ability to work flexible hours (including weekends and bank holidays).
Good attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills and basic English proficiency.
Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks (lifting, bending, standing for long periods).
Manual Handling Certificate (desirable).
Knowledge of safe chemical use (COSHH awareness desirable).
