Accommodation Supervisor
The Rose Hotel Tralee is looking for an Accommodation Supervisor to assist in the efficient running of the department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and guest care.
We are a hotel with 161 bedrooms, 2 restaurants, bar, 4 meeting rooms, function room, spa and gym.
About the role
The role will support the management team by training staff in Standard Operating Procedures and preparing daily lists for accommodation assistants. Your daily duties will include inspecting vacant and serviced bedrooms to ensure they meet desired standards, as well as inspecting public area cleaning and ensuring checklists are followed.
Main duties are as follows:
• To prepare daily lists for all accommodation assistants with the allocated number of departure and stayover bedrooms to be serviced
• To identify any special instructions to be issued to accommodation assistants in relation to daily cleaning and servicing of bedrooms
• To inspect all vacant rooms
• To inspect all serviced bedrooms to ensure that they meet the desired standard
• To liaise with Front Office and communicate all special requirements to the relevant accommodation assistants and to check that they are in place for guests’ arrival
• To report any maintenance issues to the maintenance department and the Accommodation manager in a timely fashion. E-mail or phone maintenance if the room is an arrival or stayover. Log all maintenance issues on the maintenance spreadsheet
• Read the Passover on a daily basis to see if any issues from previous evening
• Sign the grooming book on a daily basis in regards to staff presentation & grooming (located at Managers desk)
• To inspect public area cleaning on a daily basis to ensure that checklists are being followed and actioned to the agreed standard
• To keep adequate stock levels of linen and guest supplies
• To ensure that linen clean linen is stored correctly
• To ensure that dirty linen is stored correctly and prepared for collection
• To launder any items in house as necessary
• To service guest bedrooms and public areas when required
• In the absence of the department manager, to sign off on Alkimii on a daily/weekly basis
What you will need
Required criteria
- Ability to liaise with Front Office regarding special guest requirements.
- Competence in logging maintenance issues and reporting them to the relevant department.
- Experience maintaining adequate stock levels of linen and guest supplies.
- Attention to detail in monitoring staff presentation and grooming.
- Must have previous experience in this role e.g. 1-2 years
- Must have excellent communication skills
