We’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable Manager to take full responsibility for our AP operations and help us strengthen our financial processes as we grow.
About the role
What You’ll Be Doing
Running the AP Function End-to-End
Own the AP inbox and keep invoices and expenses moving smoothly through Sage 200.
Prepare weekly payment proposals and process payments across Sage and online banking.
Chase approvals and keep the workflow efficient and on track.
Keeping Our Numbers Sharp
Reconcile and manage aged creditors, supplier statements, credit cards, Equals cards, fuel cards and mileage claims.
Support month-end balance sheet reconciliations and assist with audit requests.
Building Strong Relationships
Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve queries quickly and professionally.
Collaborate across Finance — with Management Accounts, Billings, Payroll and Credit Control.
Supporting Sales Ledger (When Needed)
Assist with bank recs, sales invoicing, client recharges and customer administration.
Jumping In Where It Counts
Provide ad hoc support during busy periods and help identify improvements to systems and processes.
Who You Are
Experienced in Accounts Payable and ideally part-qualified in a relevant accountancy qualification.
Confident working independently and comfortable taking ownership.
Strong communicator who builds great relationships inside and outside the business.
Competent with finance systems — ideally Sage 200 — plus solid Excel skills (Lookups, SUMIFs, Pivot Tables).
Open to learning new tools, including a care rostering system (Nourish/Careplanner).
