Credit Controller

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Credit Controller to join our finance team. This role is critical in managing resident accounts, local authority funding, and third-party payments while maintaining a sensitive and professional approach appropriate to the care sector.

About the role

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage resident accounts, including private, local authority, and NHS-funded care

  • Ensure timely collection of fees and outstanding balances

  • Liaise with residents, families, local authorities, and funding bodies regarding payments

  • Reconcile accounts and resolve payment queries efficiently

  • Maintain accurate financial records in line with regulatory requirements

  • Work closely with care home managers and the wider finance team

  • Prepare aged debt reports and support month-end processes

What you will need

Required criteria

  • • Confident communicating sensitively with residents and families
  • • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • • Comfortable working with accounting software and Excel
  • • Proven experience in credit control
