Security Guard, Night shifts

Roydon Marina Village is a unique set up with residential park homes, owned holiday lodges and hire fleet lodges as well as a busy marina, hotel and café/bar . We are located in the beautiful Lee Valley Regional Park, a short 5 minute walk from Roydon railway station, and central London is only a 30 minute train ride away.

We are looking for an experienced, qualified Security Guard to work three 12- hour night shifts per week (and to work additional shifts to help cover annual leave etc. when required).

Main tasks and duties

  • Read security log/handover notes at start of shift and make yourself aware of any ongoing issues.

  • Wear SOS Lone Worker Security fob and carry the security mobile at all times, ensuring that it is answered immediately.

  • Wear the required PPE in the relevant areas of the site.

  • Undertake regular site patrols of all areas of the park and marina including lodges, private residences, external hotel rooms, The Boathouse Café/bar, shower block, marina pontoons and the lock.

  • Investigate/respond to all incidents including signs of intrusion, acts of violence or nuisance behaviour, dealing with the situation if safe to do so, or calling the police if the situation is volatile.

  • Take charge of emergency situations, calling the police, fire or ambulance services as required.

  • Attend any issues at the entrance barrier, recording individual and vehicle details in the security log.

  • Book in any late arriving guests at reception and show/direct them to their accommodation.

  • Attend The Boathouse Café/bar for lockup and assist the staff as necessary.

  • Ensure the security log and any incident/accident reports are completed at the end of your shift.

  • Adhere to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and site-specific Health and safety protocols

Education and Qualifications

  • Good standard of education. 

  • Must possess a full clean UK driving licence. 

  • Must possess a SIA Door Supervisor Licence. 

  • Must possess a SIA Public Space Surveillance Licence.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years previous security experience essential.

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

  • Ability to work under pressure. 

  • Quick thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Approachable and confident with first class customer service skills. 

  • Reliable with excellent time-management skills. 

  • Physically fit. 

  • Able to maintain a smart appearance. 

  • Must have a flexible approach to working arrangements and an ability to align working hours with customer demand and workload.
