Senior Quantity Surveyor
An exciting and rewarding opportunity within a new contract working within a well-established company. This role offers real variety and responsibility, involving detailed cost planning and estimates for capital works, while proactively managing sites.
About the role
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage all commercial aspects of contracts, from tender through to final account.
Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, forecasts, and cashflows.
Lead the preparation and submission of valuations, variations, and claims.
Administer contracts ensuring compliance with terms.
Provide accurate and timely commercial reports to senior management and clients.
Negotiate with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to secure favourable terms.
Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and performance evaluation.
Support compliance with housing regulations, health & safety, and sustainability standards.
Work collaboratively with operations, design, and client teams to achieve successful project delivery.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field (RICS accreditation preferred).
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor (maintenance, refurbishment, or new build) preferably in Education sector.
Strong knowledge of NEC Forms of Contracts
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
High level of financial and commercial awareness.
Strong IT skills, including cost management software and MS Office.
Ability to lead teams and mentor junior staff.
Valid CSR Card or formal Health and Safety Training
Full UK Driving License
5 years’ experience in construction industry

As the majority of the work will be conducted in Public Sector or Housing Associations, we will require a recent Access NI certificate CTS will perform a Access NI check as part of the on-boarding process.
