Stores Operative
Main Purpose of job
To support the daily operations of the Stores function, ensuring the accurate and timely flow of materials to keep the production line running efficiently.
About the role
Key duties and responsibilities
Ensure timely receipt and issue of all incoming and outgoing goods using the Epicor system.
Maintain accurate Excel tracking spreadsheets for all goods movements.
Collaborate with other departments to identify root causes and resolve any stores-related issues.
Create pick lists and respond promptly to daily production requests.
Set up and amend default receiving locations to maintain inventory accuracy.
Update and maintain the track log for all stock movements.
Assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
Work closely with the Purchasing team to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies identified during counts.
Order consumables as required for relevant departments.
Identify potential stock control issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance stores processes and accuracy.
Provide excellent customer service to internal departments and external suppliers.
Safely offload deliveries and place goods in the appropriate storage locations.
Operate material handling equipment, including counterbalance forklift, aisle master, and reach truck, in compliance with safety standards.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong IT proficiency with practical experience in MS Office applications, particularly MS Excel.
Desired criteria
- Experience operating forklifts (training can be provided if required).
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
- Previous experience working with stock control systems.
