Bar Manager
The Rose Hotel is a 4 star hotel located in Tralee, Co Kerry.
We are currently seeking a Bar Manager to consistently deliver The Rose Hotel's product and service standards, ensuring the smooth and professional running of the operations in the bars.
This is a full time role and will involve mainly evening shifts.
Responsible for bars within the hotel.
About the role
Main duties include:
1. To ensure the smooth running of bar food and drink service when you are on duty, this will include morning, lunch, afternoon and evening
2. To work closely with the Duty Managers and Head of Departments.
3. To liaise with the manager on duty and to attend the morning briefing meeting to find out what is going on in the hotel for the day.
4. To promote a professional and hospitable image to the guest and give full co-operation to any guest requiring assistance with a prompt, caring and helpful attitude.
5. To give full co-operation to any colleague requiring assistance in a prompt and helpful manner and to be flexible in assisting around the Hotel in response to business and guest needs.
6. To maintain regular and efficient communication relating to your shift and to attend all hotel meetings as required.
7. To assist with the personnel and training function in the hotel, taking on specific responsibilities in this area.
8. To assist in the training and induction of new staff in the bar in line with our standards.
9. To liaise with HR in relation to job chats/appraisals etc.
10. To deal with any customer queries and complaints and respond to them efficiently.
11. To be responsible for cash up at the end of the day
12. To ensure the security of the hotel, stocks and keys at all times whilst on duty.
13. To comply with legal obligations in relation to Health & Safety and to ensure that risk assessments are carried out and reviewed regularly.
14. To identify and report maintenance requirements/hazards in the workplace.
15. To assume responsibility whilst on duty for any emergency situations in line with set down procedures.
16. To undertake any other projects/tasks as set by the General Manager, and attend any training meetings as required.
17. To attend HOD meetings and give your input
18. To be involved in the marketing of events in Dotts Bar
19. To be involved in the drinks menu and special events.
20. To carry out any other duties which will be required by you.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Must have 4-5 years experience in a similar role in a 4 or 5 star hotel
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to anticipate guest needs and proactively manage expectations
- Need to ensure prompt resolution of customer issues
- Must be flexible to assist colleagues within the hotel
Desired criteria
- Must have previous management experience
