Location: Port of Grangemouth / Port of Leith / Port of Rosyth
Hours: Mon-Fri 0900-1700, Fri 0900-1600
Compensation: Salary - £27,000 - £30,000

About the role
In this role as Communication and Engagement Co-ordinator, you will support the Communication and Engagement Lead in delivering effective communication and engagement across Forth Ports. You will play a central part in developing high-quality content, coordinating key initiatives, and providing strong administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of communication channels and engagement activities. Your contribution will help drive meaningful employee engagement, strengthen internal communication, and support the strategic objectives of the business.
Key responsibilities:
Support the Engagement Team in delivering communication and engagement initiatives across the business
Create, edit, and coordinate high-quality communication materials for internal channels and social media
Assist in planning and delivering major engagement activities, including surveys, roadshows, strategy updates, and wellbeing/L&D initiatives
Coordinate with other departments to ensure communication and engagement activity is well-planned and aligned
Develop and maintain intranet content for the Engagement Team
Research Employee Experience Platforms/Apps to identify best solutions for requirements, quality and cost, and support implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement
Design campaign materials and generate creative ideas that align with communication strategy and brand guidelines
Support the organisation and delivery of face-to-face events such as roundtables, focus groups and small group meetings
Manage administrative tasks including the Engagement mailbox, calendar, reporting, and purchasing/financial processes
Provide support on CSR activity, including communication, social media, and events, while producing relevant management information
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an organised, creative, and proactive individual with strong communication skills and a passion for delivering high-quality engagement activity. You will be confident producing content across a range of channels, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential. The role also requires flexibility to travel to other Forth Ports locations in Scotland and Tilbury to support events, engagement activities, and wider team initiatives.
Skills and Qualifications:
Experience in smartphone filming and editing, and social media content creation
Working knowledge of Canva and Vimeo
Familiarity with project management methodologies to enable effective planning, execution and monitoring of projects
Capability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues across the business, and with external partners and suppliers
Prior experience in an administrative or co-ordinator role, ideally within a Communication and Engagement/HR setting
Strong communication and analytical skills
Precision, excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality is essential
High level of IT proficiency with advanced expertise in Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Planner
A full UK driving licence preferred to attend meetings and events at our Scottish ports (Grangemouth, Leith (Edinburgh), Dundee, Rosyth, Fife Ports)
