 As Chef de Partie, you will be a key member of our kitchen team. You will partner with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure efficient and effective operations. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the preparation and presentation of all food meets the highest standards of quality and safety, always adhering to food safety regulations, prioritising the safety and well-being of our guests and team. You will actively participate in the training and development of your colleagues, supporting their growth and ensuring a positive and collaborative work environment. By consistently striving for excellence in all aspects of your work, you will contribute to the overall success of the kitchen and the hotel, achieving budgeted food gross profit while maintaining the highest standards of quality and service.

About the role

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure all food is prepared, presented and served to a high standard, in keeping with specifications.

  • Ensure your section is run efficiently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the kitchen operation.

  • Ensure ordering is accurate and all fridges, freezers and all food storage are stock rotated to minimise waste.

  • Follow the specs set out by the Head Chef and or Sous Chef to ensure consistency in all your daily tasks.

  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in implementing and developing new menus.

  • Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and ensure you are correctly dressed according to company standards.

  • Comply with all regulations as stated in the normal operating procedures.

  • Report all maintenance issues immediately, following the correct procedure.  

  • Participate in the monthly stocktake and address any discrepancies immediately.

  • Undertake all budgetary controls to achieve the budgeted gross profit.

  • Abide by all Company and Legal Food Safety Standards.

  • Ensure you work safely and comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.

  • Complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by your Line Manager.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or higher in a quality kitchen environment.
  • Solid understanding of fresh, seasonal cooking and flavour balance.
  • Ability to manage a section independently and work calmly under pressure.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • A passion for quality and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Fully knowledgeable on Health & Safety, Hygiene, Fire and Security legislation.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.
  • The right to work and live in the UK.

Desired criteria

  • Recognised qualification in catering or food management.
