This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Senior Estimator to join our Pre-Construction Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing detailed estimates for tenders for large scale glazing and cladding projects and will develop others in the team through knowledge share and mentoring to enable them to do the same.
This role is based in our Head Office in Ballymena but may require travel to the UK.
About the role
Role Summary
Prepare tender submissions, estimates and proposals according to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
Analysis and estimation of value engineering opportunities to ensure bids are competitive.
Liaison with in-house experts to understand where additional benefits can be gained.
Receiving and logging tender enquiries
Communicate with clients on tender status.
Quantity take-off, BOQ preparation and unit rate build-ups.
Preparation, issue, follow up and negotiation of supplier enquiries & quotations.
Completion of tender checklists
Final bid preparation & submission
Follow up and negotiation of submitted tenders including attendance at tender review meetings as necessary.
Preparation of Project Information Packs for post-contract team
Attendance at internal tender review and project handover meetings
Successfully collaborate with key stakeholders to include with clients / client representatives, architects, consultant engineers, site managers, supervisors, planners, surveyors and HSEQ officers
Mentor new or apprentice team members Knowledge sharing
Checking drawings
Offering support and advice to improve
Take part in knowledge sharing activities in the business.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Higher level qualification in quantity surveying or construction management
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- High level of IT literacy, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
- Experienced in the use of measuring software (e.g., Bluebeam etc)
- High standard of organisational and time management skills.
- High level of attention to detail
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Motivated team player and ability to take initiative.
- Excellent numerical and literacy skills.
- Sound knowledge of general construction methods and building regs
Desired criteria
- Façade pricing experience is preferred but not essential
- Pricing experience using LogiKal software.
- Pricing experience of large construction projects
- Technical knowledge of SFS, Rainscreen Cladding & Glazing systems (Aluprof, Schueco etc.)
