HSEQ Advisor (UK Site Based)
Health & Safety is a vital component of our business. This is an exciting role within our HSEQ team which will assist Site & Factory Management in achieving their health, safety, environmental and quality aims to ensure they remain legislatively compliant, and adhere to the principles of our HSEQ management system.
As a HSEQ Advisor you will be learning on the job, you will be responsible for assisting the implementation the safety and environmental management controls and procedures within Clarke. Your role will be to complete assigned work to the best of your ability, ask questions to move forward and work within proposed timescales.
Along with the rest of our team, you will help us deliver dream projects for our clients on large scale construction projects.
Key Deliverables
As a HSEQ Trainee, you are required to:
Maintain Quality and Environmental procedures, processes, standards and specifications in relation to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 with an integrated management system
Advise and support Factory and Project Teams on their specific HSE duties, and provide guidance, monitoring and reporting on compliance.
Partner with Factory and Project Management to ensure all operations and activities are effectively planned and undertaken in compliance with Site and Project HSE requirements.
Provide advice and guidance on current HSE legislation applicable to the activities and any hazards present relevant to the scope of works.
Work effectively with the team to establish and implement effective Risk Assessment and HSE planning.
Assist the teams in undertaking project related risk assessments and preparation of safe systems of work in line with project specifics procedures and arrangements.
Conduct audits & site inspections as required (planned; investigative)
Responsibility for the supervision and coordination of work systems to ensure that the business meets the highest quality and environmental standards
Support the management of practices to ensure that working conditions are favourable and safe
Conduct accident investigations, and assist with any RIDDOR requirements
Actively challenge and report any unsafe actions and unsafe conditions.
Maintain construction industry accreditations e.g. CHAS; Construction Line etc…

What you will need
Required criteria
- Hold NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate Health & Safety Management for Construction
- Minimum 2 years’ proven HSE experience within the construction industry
- Accident and incident investigation experience.
- Experience of undertaking health and safety audits
- Experience of creating RAMS for complex works
- Excellent level of IT Skills in particular Excel
- Full driving licence
- Willing to travel across different UK based sites as required
Desired criteria
- Previous construction experience
- IOSH Membership and ISO Knowledge are highly desirable
