Location Manager

Role:                                   Location Manager, Killough

Reporting to:                 Regional Operations Manager

Applications are invited for the position of Location Manager, Killough Quarry. The successful candidate will report to the Regional Operations Manager, Roadstone Ltd.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

-          Ensure Health & Safety policies/procedures are implemented in compliance with legal and statutory requirements and with relevant company policies, while driving continuous improvements in the Health & Safety culture.

-          Ensure compliance with operating requirements in accordance with EPA, Local Authority and Company policies.

-          Deliver Operational Excellence against agreed Key Performance Indicators

-          Maintain relations with near neighbours, ensuring that the Company and Group image is maintained and enhanced.

-          Effectively manage all members of the location team in line with HR best practice and the established company union agreements and any I.R. issues.

-          Propose suitable learning opportunities and ensure that approved training programmes are carried out.

-          Preparation and implementation of the quarry development plans.

-          Manage quarry blasting – blast design, blast monitoring etc.

-          Active management of mobile plant efficiency using daily and weekly metrics.

-          Liaise with Roadstone Planning Department in relation to preparation of planning applications.  Actively involved with planning consultants and prepare Environmental Impact Statements.

-          Production of the annual quarry budget and management of quarry costs

-          Management of location sub-contractors.

-          Identify opportunities to improve and develop the quarry and plants, and duly deliver the company sustainability targets.

-          Optimise transport/haulage efficiency whilst driving best in class customer service.

-          Propose, prepare, and implement any CX projects which are approved.

-          Increase co-operation with other CRH companies and incorporate their “Best Practices”.

-          Work closely with other production centres in Roadstone.
