Financial Accountant
Job Purpose
The Financial Accountant will be a trusted part of the group’s senior finance function, providing strong financial leadership and proactively contributing to the continued growth of the overall business. The candidate should have strong accounting skills and excellent organisation and communication skills which they will use to oversee and drive the day to day operations of the accounting and finance function, whilst working closely with the Financial Controller and reporting into the key management team.
The role will collaborate closely with other business areas including Operations and Human Resources. This role, being multifaceted and spread across different business sectors, requires experience in both accounting and finance, and requires experience of accounting systems, accounts preparation, management accounts pack preparation and interacting with other members of the finance staff.

About the role
Roles & Responsibilities
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the primary areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
Prepare and present monthly management accounts to Board Level
Management of payroll function and the overseeing of payments
Manage budgeting and forecasting process, including variances
Producing information for directors on relevant Key Performance Indicators in order to assess group and individual staff performance
Maintain relationships with external advisors, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers etc.
Assisting the compilation of all information required to assist income reconciliation, billing, and accounts payable.
Management of workflows of other team members and meeting calendar of required actions on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Continued development of finance business processes, in line with best practice
Lead the audit process and liaise with auditors for annual accounts production & filing
· Oversee cash flow management
Oversee HMRC reporting including VAT Returns, CIS Reporting, Payroll reporting etc.
Ensure continued compliance with the Pension Regulator and oversee monthly Pension Returns.
Reconcile balance sheets
Understand regulation, legislation, and industry developments and how they will impact the business

What you will need
Required criteria
- • Strong commercial acumen and strategic business knowledge
- • Committed, enthusiastic and able to use initiative to drive the business forward
- • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
- • Fully qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to direct other team members and communicate with non-finance staff in the business.
- • Excellent analytical skills, well organised and the ability to work independently
- • Strong user of Excel and comfortable with utilisation of and exporting information from accounting systems (Sage Line 50 used in the group)
