The Malone Hotel are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team at our 4* boutique hotel. This is a full-time permanent position (40 hours per week), and the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, with a strong work ethic and high attention to detail.

About the role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Wash and sanitise dishes, cutlery, pots, and kitchen equipment.

  • Keep kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas clean and organised.

  • Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed.

  • Assist with deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.

  • Unload and store deliveries properly, ensuring correct stock rotation.

  • Ensure kitchen stations are stocked with clean utensils and equipment.

  • Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages to the chef or supervisor.

  • Support chefs with basic food preparation, such as peeling and chopping ingredients.

  • Assist in plating and food presentation when needed.

  • Maintain open communication with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (preferred but not essential).

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and handle pressure.

  • Good understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.

  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items when required.

  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
