Kitchen Porter
The Malone Hotel are seeking a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team at our 4* boutique hotel. This is a full-time permanent position (40 hours per week), and the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment, with a strong work ethic and high attention to detail.
About the role
Key Responsibilities:
Wash and sanitise dishes, cutlery, pots, and kitchen equipment.
Keep kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas clean and organised.
Ensure proper waste disposal and recycling procedures are followed.
Assist with deep cleaning tasks as scheduled.
Unload and store deliveries properly, ensuring correct stock rotation.
Ensure kitchen stations are stocked with clean utensils and equipment.
Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages to the chef or supervisor.
Support chefs with basic food preparation, such as peeling and chopping ingredients.
Assist in plating and food presentation when needed.
Maintain open communication with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Essential Criteria:
Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment (preferred but not essential).
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting and handle pressure.
Good understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
Physically fit and able to lift heavy items when required.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
