Business Development Manager
To identify, develop, and secure new business opportunities for Brett Martin’s Plastic Sheet product range through proactive business development activities. The ideal candidate will be a results-driven 'hunter', focused on expanding our market presence and increasing sales revenue.
About the role
Key Responsibilities:
New Business Acquisition: Identify, engage, and convert new customers, expanding Brett Martin’s footprint in target markets.
Market Expansion: Research and analyse market opportunities, develop entry strategies, and establish strong industry networks.
Pipeline Management: Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline, leveraging CRM tools to track and manage prospects through the sales cycle.
Lead Generation: Proactively generate leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and industry events.
Sales Strategy Execution: Implement and refine business development strategies to drive sustainable growth and increase market share.
Customer Engagement: Conduct regular meetings with prospective clients, presenting Brett Martin’s product range and value proposition.
Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor activity, industry trends, and market shifts, providing insights to refine sales strategies.
Sales Forecasting: Develop and submit accurate sales forecasts and performance reports monthly.
Collaborative Selling: Work closely with internal teams (marketing, scheduling, shipping and technical) to ensure smooth customer onboarding and delivery processes.
Brand Promotion: Represent Brett Martin at exhibitions, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and attract new business.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Proven Business Development Experience: A track record of winning new business in B2B sales.
- Self-Starter & Results-Driven: Ability to work autonomously with a strong motivation to exceed sales targets.
- Exceptional Sales Acumen: Skilled in prospecting, negotiation, and closing deals.
- Networking Ability: Strong industry connections and ability to cultivate long-term business relationships.
- Strategic Thinking: Capable of developing tailored business growth strategies.
- CRM Proficiency: Experience using CRM systems to track leads, manage customer interactions, and drive data-driven decisions.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong presentation, persuasion, and relationship-building skills.
- Flexibility & Travel: Willingness to travel regularly to meet potential clients and attend industry events.
