Job Summary
As a Technical Sales Manager, you will play a key role within the sales team liaising with customers, suppliers, and colleagues to ensure the successful growth of the SAM product range and helping to develop new and existing products for the SAM Group..
Hours of work: Monday to Friday (42.5 hours per week including break times)
About the role
Main Responsibilities of the Job
Working alongside the sales team to drive sales growth by leveraging technical expertise and understanding the customers’ needs.
Understanding and effectively communicating the technical aspects of the SAM brands.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, architects, designers, and contractors to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.
Collaborate with the engineering, production & procurement teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Support and work with the internal sales team to ensure that quotes, information, drawings, specifications etc., are returned on time to the Sales Office Manager.
Analyse and assess market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and potential challenges.
Provide technical support and training to clients and internal sales teams regarding product specifications and applications.
Show initiative & involvement in product development for new products in new & existing markets.
Develop CAD drawings for customers and manufacturing requirements liaising with the tool room.
Attend industry trade shows and networking events to promote our products and expand professional networks.
Assist in developing in-house procedures, including standardisation, and training all relevant personnel.
Any other duties as required.

Hours of work
42.5 hours per week Monday - Friday inclusive of breaks.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Access to a vehicle for company travel with a driving licence with not more than six penalty points.
- Excellent AutoCAD ability (via course and/or working experience)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with a results-oriented mindset and a strong ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, and applications.
- Experience in selling through the construction industry supply chain.
- 3+ years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
- Degree or 3rd Level Qualification in Engineering, Business, or a related field
Desired criteria
- Experience working with quality techniques and methodologies.
- Knowledge of BBA and fire testing.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on wood product machining/processing
