Goods Inwards Forklift Driver (Counterbalance)
Role Purpose: To assist in the overall receipting of stock into the warehouse, scheduling deliveries, and to adhere to health and safety regulations and procedures always.
Accountable to: Inventory Section Lead
Key Relationships: Department Managers, Trading, HR, H&S, External clients and customers, fellow employees.

About the role
Work as part of a fast-moving team unloading deliveries on loading bays and unloading curtain siders.
Accurate completion of receipting deliveries to a high standard & maintain stock accuracy using an RF gun.
To minimise missed sales and losses to the company through accuracy and Quality checks on all deliveries.
To keep work area clean and tidy in line with Standards, perform to required operating Standards across the warehouse.
To be adaptable and flexible in your approach to work as other tasks may be asked of you.
Communicate any challenges/ barriers with deliveries to goods inwards management to ensure they are addressed as quickly as possible.
Ensure procedures, team targets and KPI’s are achieved.
Working with the wider warehouse team to continuously improve the operation as a whole and working together to maintain Standards.
Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of the company’s H&S Policy, operating procedures, and Safe systems of work.
Work closely with peers and other key teams within the business to ensure smooth flow of stock into the warehouse.
To act as an ambassador for S&W Wholesale and behave in a professional and courteous manner at all times.
Responsible alongside the team for the upkeep and organisation of the yard.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Grade C or above in GCSE Maths and English
- Hold or have held in the last 3 years a Forklift License
- 2+ years’ Experience working within Warehouse environment within a similar role.
- 1+ years’ Experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work individually or as part of a team.
- Ability to work on own initiative
- Physical and manual dexterity
- Able to demonstrate the application of continuous improvement techniques

- Organized and efficient.
Desired criteria
- Experience of using RF guns and WMS back office systems
