Goods In Warehouse Supervisor/Team Lead
Location of Role: Carnbane, Newry
Role Purpose: Responsible for leading the Goods In Team and supporting the Warehouse Operation to ensure that goods in standards, booking requirements and expectations are met
Accountable to: Inventory Section Lead
Accountable for: Goods In operations
Key Relationships: Department Managers, Trading and Sales Team, HR, H&S, Customer Service, External clients and customers and 3PL partners.

About the role
• Lead the goods inwards team to ensure efficiency and consistency in methods and standards
• Ensure paperwork is completed correctly and discrepancies are clearly marked.
• Communicate with internal teams across the business to ensure a steady flow on the loading bays.
• Ensure yard and GI area is kept to a high standard.
• Pallet management in yard, arranging pallet returns and corresponding with 3pl providers.
• Drive a H&S culture and ensure your team is operating within SOP’s, hauler, yard traffic and pedestrian control.
• Set and communicate your team’s objectives during daily performance briefings, highlighting areas of focus.
• Manage booking schedule with 3Pl deliveries, along with inbound volume capacity
• Hourly pallet turnaround goods inbound, pallet accuracies, discrepancy management and comms to trading and suppliers.
• Working with peers to achieve put away efficiency and put-away capacity.
• Bay management to limit yard and floor traffic congestion in key areas.
• Cost effective resource management.
• Determine forecasts, headcount planning.
• Implementing and monitoring warehouse safety programs across the GI area and yard.
• Setting clear expectations, stretching departmental, team and individual targets. Hold people accountable for targets, actions, and results.
• Leading and motivate others. Have a strong, visible, and active leadership presence, to achieve and excel in target delivery and performance.
• Driving a strong H&S culture and behavioural mindset. Ensure all operations are run according to best practice in Health & Safety, and as per company policies and procedures and legislation.
• Identifying team talent, developing team members, and driving exceptional people performance.
• Absence, disciplinary, capability and grievance management.
• Identifying and involving team members in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Developing solutions to deliver premium and cost-effective service.

What you will need
Required criteria
- • Grade C in GCSE Maths & English or equivalent.
- • Experience of leading, motivating and developing management and functional teams.
- • Operational, Transport, Warehousing and Commercial. experience, within a fast-moving environment.
- • Understanding of booking systems and WMS.
- • Proven ability to develop and empower Team members to deliver results.
- • Experience of and a proven track record of staff management, appraisal & development of team.
- • A strong motivator with excellent communication skills.
- • Willingness to undertake staff training and development as required
- Able to operate outside core hours when required and travel to other sites on occasions.
Desired criteria
- Qualification in Supervisory Management
- A-level Qualifications or equivalent .
- Counter balance Forklift licence
- HACCP/TACCP
- BRC experience
- Experience of employee relations such as training and development.
- Experience using Index WMS
- Working knowledge of IT warehouse Management system
