Utility Supervisor - Sewers (LM/003/NIW)

We are actively seeking an experienced Utility Supervisor to join our team based in Portadown, working specifically on our Sewer Contract. Reporting to the Contract Manager, the role is to manage the day to day activities of squads and ensure the work is carried out to the standards expected by the company and to follow the guidelines set out by our client Northern Ireland Water.
You will be responsible for the following:
Management of four squads and dealing with any issues that arise on a day to day basis
Plan the daily scheduling for the squads, whilst working within specific timeframes.
Organise and plan in advance any equipment required to complete the jobs, including traffic management requirements
The work includes repair and maintenance of sewers and manholes, plus managing sewer connections
Working in a team of three, you will liaise with the other Supervisors to ensure the work is completed efficiently and to high standards
You will also be expected to ensure all paperwork, maps and information pertaining to the jobs is accurate and up to date
This is a very busy working environment and offers overtime and weekend work. You would be expected to be available for "On Call", working on a rota basis
Hours of work are 07:00 - 17:00 (Monday-Friday)

About the role
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
Experience in managing squads is expected with a knowledge of sewer repair and maintenance preferable.
A keen interest in learning the job and progressing within the role is expected. Training will be provided for the right person
Computer literacy is essential, however full training will be provided on our bespoke systems
Must be organised and have the ability to re-schedule work at short notice
A good understanding of Health and Safety regulations, and ability to relay to squads on site would be helpful
Building good working relationships with NI Water Field Managers, colleagues and squads is an integral part of the role.
