At the centre of our security services is the Global Security Operations Centre (GSOC). Operating 24/7/365, the GSOC is staffed by a specialist team of security professionals and crisis management experts who are highly practiced in the risks associated with global travel. They provide clients with timely, relevant, actionable intelligence and advice using cutting-edge technology to provide location specific insight and monitoring of incidents.

We work with our clients to help evaluate the security risks their global operations face, providing valuable advice on minimising those risks and guiding them through the process of building a safer and more secure environment for their employees, project, personnel and site facilities.  Providing access to highly specialist consultants with local knowledge and experience of challenging environments, we help clients develop risk mitigation plans appropriate to the level of risk acceptable to them.

Requirements, background, skills (hours, travel etc.):

 Skills

  • Interest in International Relations, Politics, Security Studies, History or equivalent.

  • Ability to summarise and analyse complex information.

  • Fluent in English, with excellent writing ability.

  • Capability in additional languages preferred.

 

Background

  • Relevant internships in government, international bodies, NGOs, corporate security preferred.

  • Experience of international travel.

 

Character

  • Strong interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.

  • Focused individual who takes pride in their work and has the ability to produce high quality written material within tight timeframes.

  • Genuine interest in politics, security and international relations, with a desire to build upon their knowledge. 

  • Well organised individual with demonstrated initiative and analytical mind-set.

About the role

Key activities/main duties:

 

The Monitoring Analyst’s role is to stay abreast of breaking security and operational incidents across the world, and author alerts to the Healix International client base.

 

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

 

Security Risk Intelligence

  • Monitor a range of sources for information on global security developments and operational disruption that has the potential to impact / be of interest to Healix clients.

  • Publish accurate, informative and actionable alerts on developments that meet the internal thresholds for reporting.

  • Stay abreast of upcoming events that could require proactive reporting.

·         Occasionally review, update and author online (static) country content.

 

Escalations and supporting the operations platform

·         Work closely with Global Threat Analysts and Security Coordinators to ensure a synergy between intelligence output and operational support to clients. Contribute to client cases where required.

·         Gain an understanding of our client footprint, ground operations and case activity to help us proactively engage clients in the event that their staff could be impacted by a security development.  

·         Identify those issues which constitute an out of the ordinary security incident or major deterioration, prompting an escalated operational posture. Upon identifying the incident, proactively inform the wider operations team and author alerts.

·         In a crisis, or over the course of a protracted security issue, you may be required to provide continuous updates to the wider operations platform over the course of your shift.

·         Where required, support the coordinators in the process of our travel tracking service, Critical Watch. 

 

Platform Development, Colleague and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Undertake projects designed to improve the quality of the Healix risk intelligence platform.  

 

What you will need

Required criteria

  • Expertise and knowledge of political and security issues in the Americas region
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
  • A degree or masters (or equivalent) in a related field, such as International Relations or Politics
