Technical Operator (Pipe Extrusion)

Due to continuous growth and investment, we are seeking to recruit a Technical Operator(Pipe Extrusion), who will have the opportunity to join an exciting and innovative workplace, working with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment.
As a Technical Operator(Pipe Extrusion) at Brett Martin, you will work:
12-hour week day shifts (rotating days and nights)
Average of 44 hours per week
Annual Salary of £34,330.90 inclusive of shift premium
About the role
Main Purpose: To carry out required tasks and duties on production lines, including ancillary equipment and machinery to ensure that production materials, processes and finished products conform to standards and specifications.
Main tasks and duties
Learn and understand the principles of pipes extrusion and the operation of extrusion machinery.
Assist experienced technical operators in setting up and operating extrusion lines.
Perform quality control checks on raw materials and finished products.
Monitor production processes, identify potential issues, and troubleshoot problems.
Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery of products.
Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Lean and adhere to company policies and procedures.
Continuously develop technical skills and knowledge related to pipes extrusion.

What you will need
Required criteria
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in pipe extrusion or plastic extrusion operations
- Knowledge of material properties and extrusion processes.
- Proficiency in operating and adjusting extrusion machinery
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Desired criteria
- Have experience of shift work (including nights and weekends)
- 3rd level qualification or above in plastic processing
