About the role

Job description

A Kitchen Assistant main duties include:

  • Carrying out basic cleaning tasks

  • Collecting and washing up pots and pans etc

  • Ensuring HACCP and cleaning regulations are adhered to at all times.

  • Ensuring HACCP reports are completed daily

  • Cleaning crockery & cutlery, also ensuring careful handling of delph and crockery to prevent damage and breakages

  • Ensuring food preparation sites are clean and in a tidy manner at all times

  • Ensuring the storeroom remains organised.

  • Ensuring work surfaces, wash up areas, wash hand basins, floors and walls are always clean and sanitised.

  • The removal and disposal of waste and recycling from the Kitchen together with the staff rooms to the appropriate and allocated disposal units.

  • Ensure waste, recycling bins and disposal units are emptied regularly to prevent “over flowing”

  • Ensure waste and recycling are disposed of in the correct manner.

  • Ensure the yards located at the Lodge and the Castle are clean and tidy at all times.

  • Ensuring all staff rooms are cleaned twice daily and are kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times.

  • Ensuring condiments in staff rooms are well stocked at all times.

  • All other ancillary duties
