Reports to - Maintenance Manager

Salary - Starting salary commensurate with experience

Location - This role will be based at Rasharkin, Co. Antrim.

About the role

Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing machinery and equipment used in the furniture manufacturing process. The role involves performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance and ensuring compliance with safety regulations to minimize downtime and enhance production efficiency.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment to identify potential issues

  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to reduce the risk of equipment failure..

  • Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults in manufacturing equipment

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations

  • Coordination: Work closely with production teams to address and resolve equipment-related issues

  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive measures

  • Training: Train and oversee junior maintenance staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.

  • Parts Management: Order and manage inventory of spare parts and tools required for maintenance tasksCommunicate effectively to management and employees.

  • Equipment Upgrades: Assist in the design, installation, and relocation of new or upgraded manufacturing equipment

What you will need

Required criteria

  • BSC degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintenance
  • Experience with HOMAG equipment (Beam Saw, Edge Banding, CNC Drilling)
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or similar role in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
