We have vacancies for dedicated Senior Support Workers to join our team in a Learning Disability unit service in West Belfast.

The service will be supporting residents with Learning Disabilities and complex needs within their own self-contained apartment to live a full and valued life.

Job type – Full time or Part time, permanent

Hours - Day/Night duty

Salary – Circa £14 per hour

About the role

Key responsibilities:

- As a Senior Support Worker, you will work with our resident to help them live a full and valued life.

- Assist in the safe administration of medication after full training. Liaise with Team Leader and Home Manager around any issues with safe administration of medication.

- Support the Team Leader to provide the highest quality, person-centred care.

- Assist residents with daily living activities and personal care whilst promoting independence, respect and dignity.

- Support resident’s physical and emotional wellbeing.

- Promote best practice in relation to health & safety, confidentiality and security. Care will be carried out under the supervision / direction of a Team Leader and Home Manager.

Essential Criteria:

Candidates must have at least 2 years previous Care Assistant experience and have achieved a minimum of NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care. Additionally, you must have a clear record with regards to professional conduct, performance, and attendance.

Ideal Candidate:

- Caring and friendly nature to help create a homely environment for our resident.

- Excellent communication and people skills, particularly with people with Learning Disabilities.

- Experience in a care background is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
