Positive Behaviour Care Assistant
We can only offer sponsorship for anyone on a Student Visa for those who have a minimum of 6 months expiry left. This is to allow the candidate to work in HCI and complete a review before sponsorship will be offered. For this role you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis. You must be able to work a combination of 8am -8pm, 8am -2pm and 2pm -8pm.
You will not be able to provide us with your availability and we cannot allocate you your preferred shifts. Please consider this carefully before applying.
The Home
Braefield Court is located in the idyllic village of Connor; it is a newly built facility which opened its doors in November 2022. The service consists of 7 bedrooms, it has really been built with our residents at the heart of it, and specifically tailored to meet the needs of adults living with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Complex Needs. Our residents have the opportunity to access local areas for horse riding, cycling, cinema, eateries, all with staff support 24 hours per day. Braefield Court’s team won the Innovative Practice Award at the Independent Health and Care Providers Awards, which was not only a triumph for the team, but an underpinning of how initiative and commitment within the team and to our residents has made an incredible difference to people’s lives.
The Role
The role of the Positive Behaviour Care Assistant is essential in our mission to provide excellent care. Positive Behaviour Care Assistants work closely with the senior team to meet the daily needs of residents using a positive behaviour, person centred approach., helping our residents fulfil their potential.

About the role
Main Responsibilities
Provide direct care and support to residents with complex behavioural needs, including assisting with activities of daily living, behaviour management and emotional support.
Establish rapport and build trusting relationships with residents, demonstrating empathy, patience and understanding in all interactions.
Assist senior and nursing team members with care plans, tasks, and activities to support the resident’s wellbeing.
Provide care in a safe environment through participation in learning and development programmes.
Participate in activities, motivating and supporting residents to get involved, promoting mental stimulation, socialisation and emotional wellbeing.
Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed, following established processes and ensuring resident safety and wellbeing.
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager

What you will need
Required criteria
- To be a good listener, showing patience, compassion, empathy and understanding
- A good standard of written and oral English
- The Right to Work in the UK
Desired criteria
- Previous experience within a care setting
- At least 6 months experience working in a regulated care or support environment for people with learning disability or complex needs
- Educated to QCF level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social care
