Laundry Assistant

We are a small family run organisation currently comprising of three purpose built facilities all providing 24 Hour Residential Nursing Care for Younger Adults and Elderly:

We have an opportunity for a Laundry Assistant to join our team to carry out duties in the Home to cover maternity leave, and to do so regularly without supervision. To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Care Home, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.

The shifts are afternoons, from 13:00 - 21:00, on a rota basis.

About the role

Principle Duties

1. Complete laundry for the residents who live in the home including bedding, towels and personal clothing.

Tasks include washing, ironing and returning laundry to bedrooms

Communication

2. Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.

Training and Development

3. Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.

4. Maintain professional knowledge and competence.

Health and Safety

5. Adhere to the Care Centre’s disposal of waste policy.

6. Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.

7. Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.

8 Report to the Home Manager or Maintenance Person, any faulty appliance, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.

9. Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre.

General

10. Promote and ensue the good reputation of the Care Centre.

11. Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.

12. Notify the Home Manager, or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.

13. Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times.

14.Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.

15. Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.

16. Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
