The Home

Bohill Bungalows is located just outside Coleraine in a rural location and provides the care and rehabilitation required for such specialist care provisions. Bohill Bungalows are a leading provider of a highly specialised service, providing care for residents with traumatic brain injuries, acquired brain injuries, neuro-degenerative conditions, learning disabilities and complex epilepsy. Bohill Bungalows was built in 2012 and we have 3 purpose-built 6-bedroom bungalows, one which is for ABI and 2 for Learning Disability clients. We work closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that the residents needs are met in a home setting.

The Role

This role is a dual role including 15hours of Maitenence work and 25 hours driving. This role is Monday to Friday. The company has an 9 seater bus on site for the transport of residents in the home. Each of our Homes has a Maintenance person, who is vital in ensuring the safety, comfort and well-being of residents and team members. From fixing leaky taps to organising the repair of electrical systems to maintaining the grounds and ensuring fire safety regulations are met – this is a varied role and a key member of the team. With each repair and maintenance task, you’re not just fixing things, you’re supporting the team in providing excellent care to our residents in their Home. The driving side of the role with include transporting residents and staff to various locations including days out, appointments etc.

The Maintenance person is essential in ensuring we can provide a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for our residents where they feel at home.

About the role

The Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a well decorated, safe, and comfortable environment in and outside of the Home.

  • Ensures that Healthcare Ireland’s minimum standards are delivered in all units.

  • Identifies and report damage, faults, and other related issues to line manager.

  • Liaises with local contractors on site, as required, providing local knowledge and guidance in order that maintenance schedules can be on time.

  • Deliver bloods, collect scripts and drive to suppliers when needed

  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.

What you will need

Required criteria

  • The Right to Work in the UK
  • A minimum of a years experience in a maintenance or similar role
  • Basic numeracy and literacy are minimum requirement
  • Valid UK driving license

Desired criteria

  • Keyboard and PC skills with a basic level of proficiency for the standard range of office applications such as word and excel
  • Previous experience driving a small bus
