Under the inspiring leadership of our Executive Head Housekeeper, Margaret Wilson, you will assist the Manager in providing leadership to our team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day supervision of our busy hotel Housekeeping team. We want to help you to develop your skills and offer an extensive range of learning and development opportunities.
The successful candidate will have worked in a busy housekeeping environment and be able to lead, motivate and support your team members to achieve success. You can expect to work 21 hours per week (excluding breaks), three shifts out seven including weekends. Hours vary, but typical shift patterns include 7am to 3pm and 8am to 4pm - with later hours at the weekend.
The salary for this full-time position is £13668.00 per annum.

About the role
To assist with the supervision of the Housekeeping function for the greatest enjoyment of the guests and maximum resource efficiency for the hotel.
1. To take responsibility for the effective supervision of Housekeeping staff, to ensure efficient operation of the housekeeping function and delivery of Hastings product and service standards
2. To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.
3. To ensure quality standards and procedures are fully understood and implemented, and daily checking procedures are fully applied.
4. To ensure company policies relating to stock control and stock ordering are implemented and monitored.
5. To ensure all housekeeping staff receive the appropriate training and coaching to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
6. To ensure the team work to trained standards, providing feedback to deliver effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
7. To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments and suppliers to maintain an effective operation and ensure guest satisfaction.
8. To ensure all bedroom, public and ancillary areas are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards.
9. To ensure you and the team are knowledgeable about the facilities and services within the hotel and are proactive in the sale of these to guests.
10. To ensure you and the team assist guests with any reasonable request for hotel services.
11. To ensure you and the team respond to complaints and find the appropriate solution.
12. To ensure the security of guest bedrooms and storage areas is maintained at all times.
13. To ensure all material and equipment are used in accordance with guidelines and are properly maintained.
14. To ensure a safe environment is maintained in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies and procedures.
15. Any other duties as required by management.
About You
We would love you to have some similar previous experience ideally at a supervisory level.

- Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths
- Right to Work in the United Kingdom
- Work well under pressure and be a team player
- Must have excellent attention to detail
- Smart well-groomed appearance is essential
- Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills
- Must have previous Housekeeping Experience
Desired criteria
- Previous Housekeeping experience gained within a hotel
- Previous supervisory experience gained within a similar quality establishment
