PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Working with older adults in long term residential care the day to day responsibilities include carrying out individual assessments, joint multidisciplinary assessments, functional, fitness and falls risk assessments using best practice outcome measures to devise treatments plans that achieve person centred short- and long-term goals. Delivering specialised group exercise therapy to older adults of all levels of physical and cognitive capabilities is an integral part of the service we provide.
The ideal candidate will be;
· Competent and enthusiastic in instructing, prescribing, recording and analysing best practice exercise with residents
· Eager to help develop the expertise of colleagues so that they may contribute to the well being of our residents
· Passionate & committed to working with the older adult population.
· Eager to develop their own professional competence in this area while also be able to demonstrate evidence of continued professional development around older adult care.
· Flexible and willing to be involved in all aspects of the company’s on site activities as well as understanding that there will likely be travel required to other Evergreen Care NHs from time to time..
· CORU registered AND member of ISCP.
· Legally entitled to work in Ireland.- Work permit must be in place.
· Excellent interpersonal skills who displays patience and understanding when interacting with residents
Initial 6 month probationary contract with a full review based on performance.
Must have recent and long-term references.
Full drivers licence is essential.
About the role
The role is expected to evolve over time. Flexibility is required as changes or alterations to the role may occur, after appropriate notice and training are given. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed periodically with the PICs &/or Operations Managers.
