For this role you must be fully flexible Monday to Sunday. You will be allocated shifts on a rotational basis. You must be able to work a combination of 8am -8pm/ 8pm -8am depending on day or night shift role.
You will not be able to provide us with your availability and we cannot allocate you your preferred shifts. Please consider this carefully before applying.
The Home
Slemish Nursing Home was built over 35 years ago and is located at the edge of Ballymena with a short walking distance to all the local churches and shops. Our care team has a long-standing reputation in the Ballymena area for delivering excellent Nursing Care in a homely, friendly, professional environment, led by a manager of over 20 years’ experience working within the care home. We are unconditionally dedicated to providing Palliative, End of Life, and Physical Disability Care in which we take great pride, and this is very much recognised throughout our local area. The bed capacity is currently 37 and this will extend to 63 beds on the completion of our extension next month. We believe that you will feel the warmth of a welcome from our team – to our residents, families, and friends, with our ‘Open House’ policy to ensure family and friends can visit any time and have the personal experience of a ‘feeling of home’.
The Role
The role of a Registered Nurse in our services is a key position in our mission to provide excellent and inclusive care. The Registered Nurse is a leadership role, playing a vital part in managing the care of our residents and providing high-quality and person-centred care. The Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care plans tailored to the individual needs of our residents.
We pride ourselves on being able to deliver excellent care to our residents, as a Registered Nurse you will support the management of shifts, ensuring the safety of all residents and our team. About the role
Main Responsibilities
Delivering person centred care to each resident
Assess and monitor the physical health of residents within care plans
To offer support and supervise all care staff or new recruits
Ensure effective communication of any concerns relating to resident care
Complying with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements
Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager
