We currently have Operating Centres across Northern Ireland and Ireland, with further plans for expansion. McCulla has over 300 employees working across our Transport, Warehousing, Customs and Green Bioenergy Operations. There is an ever-growing modern fleet consisting of over 120 vehicles and 200 trailers operating our just in time service with environmental sustainability at the forefront of everything we do and making us unique in the market for our customers.
We are looking to recruit an experienced Traffic Desk Manager to join our team at Ballymount, Dublin due to further market growth.
The Person
This role will require a professional individual who is highly organised, with great attention to detail and has rounded experience in managing a traffic planning desk within the Logistics & Warehousing sectors.
About the role
Main duties and responsibilities:
Ensure the ROI Desk is adequately staffed & resourced at any given time.
Carry out training programs and reviews with staff, signing staff-off on all relevant Company/System processes.
Oversee the ROI Desk Operation, ensuring all other roles are being carried out efficiently and highlighting any issues that arise then implement a fix it now approach.
First escalation point on Driver and Customer Issues/Complaints. If issues are serious or persistent then escalate these to the Transport Operations Manager.
Continuous Coaching of Planners/Co-Ordinator’s to deal with Driver & Customer Issues/Complaints. If Driver Issues are persistent then escalate these to the Transport Operations Manager.
Liaise with the Fleet Manager to ensure all Servicing/PSV’s/Repairs are carried out when scheduled. Ensure that all the fleet is returned to the workshop within agreed timeframes.
Responsible for following up and resolving any issues highlighted by the Transport Operations Manager
Responsible for ensuring ROI Contracts of works are provided a first-class service, ensuring admin/worksheets are correct and up to date and challenging drivers when required.
Responsible for ROI driver holidays, recording issues, dealing with issues and timekeeping.
Work closely with the Transport Operations Manager to highlight any issues within the ROI Operation and resolve them.
Produce reports for the Transport Operations Manager and if absent delegate this to another member of staff accordingly.
Ensure all company procedures are being actioned daily- Debriefing, POD Process, Paperwork Process, Training Process, etc.
Provide support where necessary to Planners and Co-Ordinator’s.
Manage and conduct 3-, 6- and 12-month reviews with new staff and also conduct performance reviews with current staff to highlight where staff feel they can be supported further in their roles and require further development.
Attend meetings when required and bring forward suggestions to improve the overall Operation.
Deal with staff escalations in prompt manner and escalate to the Transport Operations Manager were appropriate
Undertake any other duties to support with the operation based on the needs of the business.
Criteria:
Recent experience within a Traffic Manager or Senior Transport Planner position within the logistics industry.
Good geographical knowledge of Ireland.
Comfortable communicating with all levels of business.
Have high level IT skills as the complete operation is digital.
Good Knowledge of transport legislation.
Good time keeping and being able to work in a structured manner adhering to timetable requirements.
Problem solving ability.
Flexible attitude to working hours & shift patterns to support the needs of the business.
Terms:
Permanent Role.
Monday – Friday, Day Shift.
1 in 4 weekend rotation.
Salary €50,000 - €60,000 depending on experience.
