Executive Head Chef
Job Purpose
The Titanic Hotel Belfast, part of the Harcourt Collection, is recruiting an Executive Head Chef to join our award-winning team. We are looking to for a proactive team leader, that thrives in the Kitchen and is passionate about the hospitality industry.
The Executive Head Chef is responsible for the menu creation for all outlets, food cost control, Food Safety standards, Environmental Health standards, along with overseeing the day to day running of the Kitchens within the hotel. As well as the managing of the Kitchens, it’s imperative that the Executive Head Chef is focused on continuously driving standards within Titanic Hotel Belfast.
About the role
Main Responsibilities and Key Tasks
Ensuring that the Kitchen Brigade consistently delivers exceptional food and service, putting the guest at the heart of all activities.
Leading the team in the effective delivery of department goals, planning and organising work activities, seeking to continuously improve ways of working and engaging the team to do the same.
Innovating and develop menus with your own distinctive style, inspiring your team and our guests alike.
Maintaining a safe, healthy and secure workplace environment, following all work protocols and engaging the team with training initiatives.
Building effective relationships to create a positive learning environment will be a key requirement to ensure the success of the department
Making clear, confident decisions, will be second nature to you, consulting with others where needed.
Leading menu development and having a good understanding of business financials including labour costs, food costs, forecasting and budgets.
Directing, leading, training, motivating your team. Developing a cooperative and competitive team spirit with a positive attitude
Excellent communicator and presenter, both orally and written
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
Ability to work to deadlines, be proactive and work a flexible schedule as and when required
Strong organisational skills, with the capacity to self-prioritise

Displaying thorough knowledge of and adherence to the law with regard to the following company regulations:
Fire regulations and procedures
Health and safety regulations
First aid procedures
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
§ Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Previous experience in a similar luxury, multi-outlet hotel is essential
Proven experience of managing, coaching and developing teams, and you will enjoy motivating others to be their best, achieve their goals and fulfil their potential.
You will be excellent at building a rapport with colleagues and guests.
Most of all, you will have a professional, organised and friendly approach.
Delivering outstanding food and service will be your passion and motivation.
Your knowledge of food will be vast, and your finger will be on the culinary pulse of the latest food trends.
Your food cost adherence will be excellent
Emotional Intelligence is an important part of being an Executive Head Chef at Titanic Hotel Belfast, so you will display this at all times and constantly practice self-improvement.
