Social Care Leader
Ashdale Care Ireland is seeking a Social Care Leader to join our community of care to provide a Supervisory role with a starting salary of €38,546 plus a sleep-in allowance of up to €8,000!

Job Purpose
Social Care Leaders work as a member of a Residential Team to create a safe and caring environment which meets the individual and group needs of the children who live there. Social Care Leaders must practice by relevant childcare legislation, national standards and Ashdale Care (Ireland) Ltd Policies and Procedures.
About the role
Job Description
To promote a caring, nurturing environment to best meet the needs of our young people
participate in all aspects of the RSCW role as per job description.
Role Modelling for all staff and young people
Work alongside Management Team promoting positivity and reflective practice within the home
To assist the Home Management in Auditing Keywork to ensure it is in line with recommendations from the placement plan meetings
To carry out specific mentoring pieces of work under the direction of management
To assist the home management with “in house” inductions with new staff
To assist the home management with overseeing budgets, i.e. clothing, holiday, family time, Christmas, birthdays etc., including requesting monies from Ashdale and processing receipts for return
To assist with Supervision, both formal and informal and weekly check in’s with new staff
To attend and contribute to planning meetings, statutory reviews, management meetings, SERG’s and other meetings, as required, representing the home in a positive fashion and where necessary, acting as an advocate for the child and their family
Participate in On-call as per rota
To assist in the completion of the monthly rota

What you will need
Required criteria
- 3 years relevant experience working with children/young people from challenging backgrounds
- Successfully completed Key working roles (or equivalent) for a minimum of 6 months
- Up to date knowledge of legislation surrounding Residential Childcare and Safeguarding
- Experience of multi-disciplinary working with a range of professionals in the industry
- Ability to deliver reports and meet deadlines
- Full driving licence
- Flexible approach to meet business needs
- Level 7 qualification (degree) or above in one of the following: Social Care Social Work Health and Social Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Youth & Community Teaching Nursing Social Science Addiction Counselling Counselling / Psychotherapy Family Support Disability Studies Applied Behavioural Analysis Early Years Care
- Level 8 qualification (Honours degree) or above in one of the following: Psychology
- Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service)
