Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

About the role
As a Maintenance Engineer, your role will involve
Reporting and adhering to instructions from Maintenance Manager and Senior Maintenance Technicians.
Ensuring good housekeeping measures and that a safe and clean working environment is kept at all times.
Ensure the company's Health & Safety Policy is adhered to, maintaining compliance with evolving statutory regulations
Ensuring all tasks undertaken are completed in accordance with the appropriate and necessary regulations
Managing repairs and breakdowns whilst avoiding downtime and ensuring minimal disruption;
Fault finding and continuous improvement site wide focusing on critical plant and addressing the root cause of failures.
Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance on plant and machinery;
Using predictive maintenance techniques to support a LEAN manufacturing philosophy;
Operating under the company’s TPM framework to help improve the reliability and efficiencies of equipment and machinery.
Maintaining equipment maintenance records, ensuring accurate allocation of work hours;
Participating in equipment reliability analysis to identify trends, repetitive failures, opportunities for improvement in reliability and effectiveness.
Completing maintenance improvement projects to support departmental installation, utility reduction and equipment reliability objectives.
Supporting the training of new personnel, including employees enrolled in the apprenticeship program.
Liaising with equipment suppliers as necessary in relation to equipment installation, reliability and fault diagnosis issues.
Undertaking mechanical tasks in support of the role to a level within your capability and / or in accordance with training provided.
What you will need
Required criteria
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship as in a mechanical or mechatronic engineer, preferably to HNC or equivalent level.
- Minimum of 1 years' post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing background.
- 5 GCSE including English and Maths
- Proficient in the maintenance of mechanical systems: pneumatics, hydraulics, pumps, vacuum systems, mechanical drives / gearboxes
