Senior Finance Officer
Westward Care is a leading provider of health and social care services to older people in Leeds.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small but busy finance team looking after 5 locations. Our collaborative approach means we get involved in all aspects of finance. We value commercial awareness, strong communication skills and attention to detail.
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for day-to-day transactions and reconciliations along with supporting the Finance Director with monthly, yearend and budget reporting.
Duties Include:
Lead and prepare the company’s outsourced payroll process for 220 employees including setup of new employees, issuing contracts etc.
Ensure pensions deductions are correctly applied and deducted in line with company procedures and auto enrolment. Submit and reconcile monthly pension reports
Maintain a detailed sales ledger including the preparation and posting of client invoices,
New client set-up and closure, debt management.
Supporting Care Home Administrators to ensure accurate and timely information submissions to head office.
Daily reconciliation of bank transactions and cash books for transparency and accuracy
Maintain a detailed purchase ledger including overseeing the posting of supplier invoices, petty cash etc.
Facilitate supplier payment runs while maintaining financial disciplines
➢Process month end journals including payroll, prepayments and accruals
Reconciliation of key nominal ledger accounts, PAYE, Pensions, etc.
Support in the preparation of the monthly management accounts and annual budgets
Provide support during annual audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor queries
Ad-hoc administrative tasks including client and supplier liaison, submissions to Office of National Statistics, supporting the FD with company performance analysis and reporting
About the role
Requirements:
Attention to detail and accuracy with strong technical accounting skills and proficiency with accounting software
At least 2 years experience in a similar role or AAT Studier/part qualified
Experience with Sage, Excel and Word is essential, knowledge of Coolcare and IRIS advantageous.
Ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively

Location:
Whilst this role is based at our Head Office in Beeston, South Leeds, there is some flexibility for remote working by mutual agreement and following completion of successful probationary period.
