Duties and Responsibilities of the Role:

• Prepare function rooms for meetings, conferences, and banquets, including setting up chairs, tables, staging, AV equipment, and other necessary items according to the event's specifications.

• Assist with the placement and arrangement of décor, linens, and catering service stations.

• Break down and clear spaces after events, ensuring all equipment is cleaned, stored properly, and the venue is ready for the next event.

• Respond promptly to any requests for additional items (e.g., chairs, AV equipment, supplies) during an event.

• Keep storage areas for conference and banquet supplies organized and maintain inventory levels.

• Provide courteous and professional assistance to guests attending events, ensuring their needs are met promptly.

• Collaborate with the catering and front-of-house teams to deliver an exceptional event experience.

• Follow all health and safety protocols, including proper handling of equipment, setting up fire exits, and ensuring pathways are clear.

• Report any maintenance issues, damage, or safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.

Requirements for the role:

• Previous experience as a porter or in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in a luxury hotel setting, is desirable.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage with guests professionally and courteously.

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues.

• High standards of cleanliness, organization, attention to detail and event space presentation.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quickly.

• Be flexible with shift patterns, including working early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
