We are a small family run organisation currently comprising of three purpose built facilities all providing 24 Hour Residential Nursing Care for Younger Adults and Elderly:

Role Specification

  • To undertake the responsibility of ensuring the social, psychological and spiritual needs of the individual Service User are met and that the Service Users are happy and contented within the home.

About the role

Principle Duties

  • To assess the needs of each individual Service User, with regards to their social, spiritual and psychological well-being.

  • To plan how best to meet these individual needs by liaising with the Service User, their families, friends and key worker.

  • To ensure care given is evaluated on a regular basis in participation with the Service User, their representative and key worker.

  • To maintain accurate records of care for each individual Service User.

  • To liaise with other professionals in order to gain more information/skills this could be utilised to benefit each individual Service User.

  • To encourage fellow staff to participate in the meeting of individual service Users needs by the formation of individualised and group activities.

  • To publish a planned weekly itinerary of events in advance.

  • To supervise and actively assist in all aspects of resident care.

  • To participate in making sound clinical judgements with the co-operation of the service Users, their families, named nurses and key workers.

  • To act as a resource person for both trained and untrained staff.

  • To motivate and provide general support to all service users, as their individual needs dictate.

  • To ensure all service users receive appropriate care during each span of duty.

  • To organise and plan work efficiently.

  • To familiarise themselves with ongoing activities within the community and forge links with community based societies and clubs.

  • To co-operate and maintain good working relationships with all staff members.

  • To develop good relationships with Service Users, relatives and visitors to the home.

  • To participate in staff meetings at the request of the Manager, Staff Nurses and Senior Care Assistant.

  • To participate in training as required by law or by the Company’s standards.

  • To comply with regulations in respect of Health & Safety At Work Act, Environmental Health and Fire Procedure.

  • To adhere to the requirements of COSHH.

  • To maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • To promote the good name of the home at all times.

  • To be aware of and exhibit effective cost control.

  • Be fully aware of your terms and condition of employment.

The above mentioned is considered to be a broad representation and not necessarily a comprehensive list. Additional responsibilities will be agreed from time to time as the needs of the home dictate. Any major variation to the key tasks will be subject to discussion between the post holder and the Manager.
