Rate of pay: £12 per hour (Real Living Wage! With enhancements for Sundays, Bank Holidays and sleep-ins)

Permanent, Part-Time, Full-Time and Casual posts available

0-35 hours per week (these can include, morning, evening, daytime, weekend, sleep ins and waking nights)

We are looking for an enthusiastic Support Worker who will role model our key values and ensure the service continues to run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be part of the key workforce on the front line ensuring our customers have every opportunity to lead the life they choose.

We pay the real living wage and there is currently funding available that allows us to give you a £1000 bonus subject to conditions (please ask for more information).

Leading Lives provides social care support for people with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs in the home and in the community across Suffolk and neighbouring counties. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise, owned by our employees. Any surplus we make is reinvested back into services for our customers or into the local community.

As Support Worker, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Support a range of customers to live independently and complete day to day activities

  • Identify and assist with opportunities within the local community

  • Provide intimate personal care according to individual needs

  • Maintain dignity and respect at all times

  • Communicate effectively and sensitively with customers

  • Liaise effectively with families and carers

  • Where appropriate, administer medication in line with Company policy

Your induction

As part of your induction with Leading Lives you will need to attend the Leading Lives three week induction and complete a comprehensive training plan which consists of online and in person training, building your confidence on items such as safeguarding, building rapport and total communication. You will complete this by coming into the office each week Monday – Wednesday 9am-4pm and between Thusday to Sunday you will be allocated shadowing hours (times to be confirmed before your start date).

All new colleagues will be starting on one of the below dates which will be confirmed in writing by the Recruitment Department: your start date is subject to successful completion of onboarding.

  • 30th September

  • 21st October

  • 11th November

  • 2nd December
