The Home

Chestnut Lodge care home is situated in the countryside a mile away from the quiet village of Benburb in County Tyrone. The home caters for up to 40 residents with Dementia Nursing, General Nursing, and Physical Disability care needs. We provide short term respite and long-term care. In Chestnut Lodge, we really value internal progression, we encourage further development with our staff and work in partnership with local colleges and universities

The Role

In each of our Homes, we have an Administrator who works closely with the Home Manager, playing an essential role in supporting the operation of the Home. As Administrator, you are a valuable member of our team and often the first port of call for residents, family members and team members for queries.

This role is responsible for managing the administrative tasks of the Home, maintaining resident and employee records, supporting the Home Manager with compliance and regulatory requirements. As Administrator, you will also work closely with the Finance, HR and Recruitment teams at Head Office, building strong working relationships to meet the administrative needs of the Home.

  • 24-30 Hours

  • 5 days/week- Monday to Friday.

  • Flexible start and finish time.

About the role

Main Responsibilities

  • Provides efficient and effective administrative and secretarial support to the home, including document and report production, telephone enquiries, diary management, payroll input meeting and greeting visitors and other administrative tasks as appropriate.

  • Create and update resident and employee folders as well as systems, adhering to RQIA standards

  • Payroll and managing residents funds

  • Maintain accurate resident and staff records

  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager

What you will need

Required criteria

  • To be organised and able to prioritise a varied and competitive workload
  • Previous Administrative experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to act with discretion when required
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent standard, with a high level of English and numeracy.
  • Keyboard and PC skills with a basic level of proficiency for the standard range of office applications such as word and excel.
  • The Right to Work in the UK

Desired criteria

  • Previous administration experience within a nursing home environment preferable
