ICT Officer

This is a rare opportunity to join Key’s technology team.  You’ll have responsibility for providing effective and responsive technical support and assistance to staff located across Scotland.  You will support the development of digital skills and confidence amongst the workforce and encourage the adoption and use of technology.  You will have a relevant HNC or have considerable experience of delivering ICT support.

You must have access to a suitable vehicle during working hours and either hold a valid current driving licence or be able to make alternative arrangements.

About the role

Key and our subsidiary Community Lifestyles provide high quality, personalised support to enable disabled people to achieve the life they want.  We employ over 2400 staff working from people’s own homes, local communities, and a network of offices across Scotland. 

Our ICT infrastructure is designed to support our workforce to provide services seamlessly, from multiple locations, as well as supporting mobile and remote working.  As a member of our ICT team the post holder will be responsible for promoting and supporting digital ways of working, in line with the organisation’s strategy and best practice.

MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE ROLE

·        to provide effective and responsive technical support and assistance to staff located across Scotland.

·        to support the development of digital skills and confidence across the workforce and encourage the adoption and use of technology.

·        to administer a Microsoft environment both on premise and in the cloud.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical support and assistance

·        provide effective support, problem solving and advice to users in locations across Scotland. This will include travel to local offices as required.

·        provide effective communication with users in relation to any disruption to ICT services.

·        install, support, and decommission ICT hardware and software in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.

·        ensure that ICT policies and procedures are followed.

·        purchase items within the ICT budget subject to agreed limits and record this spend as directed.

·        contribute to the development and maintenance of the ICT support website.

Development of skills and confidence

·        support and empower staff to use digital services more effectively.

·        promote a culture which fosters innovation, creative thinking, open communication, and collaboration across the organisation.

·        develop and maintain user guidance materials.

·        contribute to the development of policies relating to ICT and cyber security.

·        contribute to the ongoing development of our ICT strategy.

·        carry out any other duties as directed within these broad areas of responsibility.

·        Keep abreast of improvements and developments in ICT technologies and support.

Security

·        in partnership with the ICT colleagues maintain the organisations cyber accreditations.

·        foster a secure by design ethos within the ICT teams and the wider organisation.

Systems administration

·        liaise with colleagues to support our physical and virtual infrastructure, both on premise and in the cloud.

·        liaise with colleagues to maintain an Office 365 tenant.

·        administering directory services in line with the Procedures Handbook.

·        work with the wider team to deliver change and improvement in line with the ICT Strategy.

·        along with colleagues maintain the Systems Manual and Procedures Handbook.

·        along with colleagues develop and maintain the ICT Support website.

·        develop and maintain user guidance materials that meet the needs of end users.

·        along with colleagues maintain inventories of devices deployed within the organisation.
