Domestic
Carrondale Care Home is situated on the banks of the River Carron in Carronshore on the outskirts of Falkirk.
We provide Complex Care for those between the age of 18 and 65., we additionally provide elderly nursing care for over 65's.
We have a new opportunity for a Domestic to join our team to carry out domestic cleaning duties in the Home, and to do so regularly without supervision. To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Care Home, whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.
About the role
Principle Duties
1. Daily Cleaning:
Empty waste bins and wipe out.
Vacuum throughout.
Shake out cushions.
Clean dining rooms/ lounges/ lavatories.
Clean taps and sinks.
Mop hard floors.
Clean soap dishes.
Clean toothbrush holders.
Dust and polish furniture and windowsills.
Polish all mirrors.
2. Weekly Cleaning:
Clean all pipe work in lavatories.
Dust handrails and radiators.
Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust
beneath and behind.
Wash out wastepaper baskets.
Shampoo carpets as requested by Home Manager.
Dust light bulbs and fittings.
Dust curtain rails.
Dust pictures.
Sitting rooms – remove seat cushions and wash/vacuum.
3. Restock soaps, paper towels etc when required.
Communication
4. Participate in Staff and Client meetings as required.
Training and Development
5. Attend mandatory training days/courses, on or off site, as and when required.
6. Maintain professional knowledge and competence.
Health and Safety
7. Adhere to the Care Centre’s disposal of waste policy.
8. Report immediately to the Home Manager, or Person in Charge, any illness of an infectious nature or accident incurred by a Client, colleague, self or another.
9. Understand and ensure the implementation of the Care Centre’s Health and Safety policy, and Emergency and Fire procedures.
10. Report to the Home Manager or Maintenance Person, any faulty appliance, damaged furniture, equipment or any potential hazard.
11. Promote safe working practice in the Care Centre.
General
12. Promote and ensue the good reputation of the Care Centre.
13. Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties.
14. Notify the Home Manager, or the Person in Charge, as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty, and also on your return to work from all periods of absence.
15. Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times.
16.Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales.
17. Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained.
18. Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you.
